Y si esto fuera poco, además está el orgullo de ver como sus hijos crecen. "Ellos son el éxito más grande de mi vida. Todo lo demás es, sencillamente, un decorado”. Todos afirman que el tiempo es oro, menos tú. ¿Qué es el tiempo para ti en este momento de tu vida? El tiempo es cualquier cosa menos oro, porque ya le gustaría al oro ser tiempo. El tiempo es algo incomparable, que no tiene precio. Es el activo más importante que tienen los seres humanos, un activo que no se ve y que solo te das cuenta de lo importante que es el día que no lo tienes. Dices que este es el mejor disco de tu carrera. ¿Qué tiene de especial que no tengan los anteriores? No solamente es el mejor de mi carrera, sino que estoy convencido de que es el más caro. Es, con mucha diferencia, el álbum al que más tiempo de búsqueda, de conciliación, de entendimiento, de composición he dedicado de toda mi vida. Dicen que los discos no se terminan, sino que se dejan por imposibles. Este no lo dejé por imposible, sino que he intentado trabajar con él hasta el punto de decir "no sé si se podrán hacer mejor las cosas, yo, seguro que no". También has lanzado un libro en el abordas los momentos duros de tu vida. ¿Cómo ha sido ese proceso de escritura? Cuando te dedicas a escribir canciones, a contar verdades, el hilo conductor suele ser el mismo, aunque el ejercicio ha sido diferente. Nunca había dado el paso de presentar mi primer libro, que es casi un biopic, y tenía más miedo que vergüenza. Hay otras veces que tengo más vergüenza que miedo. ¿Qué cuesta más: aceptar el mal momento o volver a empezar de cero? El mal momento es igual que necesario que el bueno. Este libro, que no pretende ser de autoayuda, cuenta la historia de un tipo que toca fondo y que, en realidad, lo que busca es encontrar el camino para volver a salir arriba. . Porque a partir de tu experiencia siempre puedes ayudar a mucha gente… ¿Te imaginas? No sé si una historia como la mía es tan importante como para ayudar a otras personas... Tú decides: ¿libros o canciones? Definitivamente, canciones. Si me siento en el piano y toco una armonía cualquiera y pudiese empezar a leerte el libro te darías cuenta de que no es un libro, sino una canción un poco más larga. No creo que haya una historia que no pueda convertirse en la canción más bonita del mundo. ¿Qué planes tienes para este nuevo año? Anunciamos una gira en 2026, La gira de tu vida, la más importante de mi carrera. En 2027 visitaremos Latinoamérica e intentaremos que deje una huella bonita. By far, it’s the album I’ve devoted the most time to searching, reconciling, understanding, and composing in my entire life. They say albums are never finished, only abandoned as impossible. I worked on it to the point of saying, ‘I don't know if it can be done any better, but I certainly can't.’ You've also released a book addressing the difficult moments in your life. What was the writing process like? When you dedicate yourself to writing songs, to telling truths, the thread tends to be the same, although the exercise this time was different. I'd never taken the step of presenting my first book, which is almost a biopic, and I was more afraid than embarrassed. There are other times when I feel more embarrassed than afraid. What's harder: accepting bad times or starting from scratch? The bad times are just as necessary as the good times. This book, which is not intended to be a self-help manual, tells the story of a guy who hits rock bottom and who is really just looking for a way to get back on top. Because through your experience you can help a lot of people... Can you imagine? I don't know if a story like mine is important enough to help other people... You decide: books or songs? Definitely songs. If I sat down at the piano and played any harmony and then started reading the book to you, you'd realise that it's not a book, but a slightly longer song. I don't think there's a single story that couldn't be turned into the most beautiful song in the world. What are your plans for this new year?
